Special Shout Out To Armory College Prep Alumni Salif Mane - A Paris Olympian

The Paris Olympic Games were extra special for The Armory, as Salif Mane, one of our very own ACP students, finished sixth in the world in the Men's Triple Jump. Salif attended Taft Educational Campus in the Bronx, graduating in 2019. While at Taft, he was a New York State Champion in the triple jump under the guidance of Armory Hall of Fame Coach Marella Richardson. Salif then went on to attend Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating this past spring.

Salif won the triple jump at both the NCAA Championships and the US Olympic Trials in the same year, an achievement accomplished by only three other athletes. Salif set his personal best at the Olympic Trials with his jump of 17.52 meters, sealing the victory and securing his place on Team USA for the Paris Games.

At the Olympics, Salif advanced to the final round with just one jump in the men's triple jump qualifications, earning him a spot among 11 other elite athletes. He finished the competition with a best jump of 17.41 meters, placing sixth overall. We commend him on a spectacular season, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this young superstar.
