We Qualified!
We had several historical and personal best performances from our ACP students over the weekend at the PSAL City Championships track meet. The top performers in each event stamped their bus ticket to Cornell University for a chance to compete at New York State Championships.
Taft Educational Campus ACP students had a spectacular day. Salif Mane (44’ 10.50"), Souleyman Seck (43’08.50"), and Sonny Boakye (43’03”) swept the triple jump. The sweep was the first in school history and also the boys first time qualifying for State Champs. Carlon Hosten was awarded male athlete of the meet after running a New York state record in the 55m (6.28), placing second in the 300m (34.43) and helping his 4x400m team place second with an impressive time of 3:26.42.
Our ACP girls had numerous awesome performances as well. Rori Lowe won the long jump (18’05.50"), Amy Alagor defended both her throwing titles (weight throw 46’06.50" and shot put 36’00.75"), and the infamous NYRR Millrose Games girl’s 4x200m champions won the PSAL City Championships 4x200m (1:42.37). Congratulations to all of our students and good luck at New York state championships.
