Young Athletes Inspired at the Millrose Games Youth Clinic
The Millrose Games Youth Clinic, held on Friday, February 9th, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM, was a resounding success! Over 250 children from various schools and programs, including Little Feet (grades 2-5), CityTrack (grades 6-8), Dewitt Clinton High School, Robeson High School, Success Academy, Harlem Children Zone and Taft HS Track Team, and Manhattan Center for Science, had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the track & field world.
Nine professional athletes, including Olympic and national champions like Olivia Baker, Zach Bradford, Shashalee Forbes, English Gardner, Dani Jones, Candice McLeod, Sharika Nelvis, Luis Peralta, and Kim Williamson, guided the young athletes through drills, stretches, and exercises. The children were not only able to hone their skills but also gain valuable insights and inspiration from these accomplished individuals.
Many children came prepared with permanent markers, collecting autographs from the professional athletes. The combination of expert coaching, interactive learning, and the chance to meet their track and field heroes left a lasting impression on all the participants, undoubtedly sparking a passion for the sport and a drive to achieve their own athletic goals.
